People keep scrolling social media because it gives quick pleasure, becomes a habit, and creates a fear of missing out, even if it sometimes makes them feel worse.

Social media is not fully good or fully bad for mental health — it depends on how we use it.

On the good side, it helps us stay connected with friends and family, learn new things, and even feel supported when we are going through tough times. Many people use it for motivation, creativity, and building their careers.

But on the bad side, too much social media can make us compare our lives with others, which lowers confidence. It can also become addictive, waste time, and sometimes lead to stress, anxiety, or even loneliness. Negative comments and cyberbullying also affect mental health.

    So, the reality is simple:
If we use social media in a balanced way, it can be helpful. But if we overuse it or focus on negative content, it can harm our mental health.
